Pouilly Fumé

Designation

Pouilly Fumé

Grape variety

Sauvignon blanc

Area

2 hectares

Soil

This cuvée comes from from an exceptional clay-limestone terroir in the village of Les Loges. These soils, rich in minerals and ideally exposed, are ideal for growing Sauvignon Blanc.

Vinification

Hand-picked and carefully sorted, the grapes are then gently pneumatically pressed to extract the juice. The must is then cold-settled for 12 to 24 hours to enhance the clarity and purity of the aromas.

Natural fermentation then takes place in temperature-controlled vats, ensuring a perfect expression of the terroir, while ageing on fine lees brings complexity and volume to the wine.

Features

This wine has a pale yellow colour with silver highlights. Its complex nose reveals aromas of ripe yellow fruit, apricot and peach in syrup, enhanced by a subtle hint of almond. When aired, notes of citrus peel and orange blossom add freshness. On the palate, the attack is frank and lively, carried by vibrant tension and a salivating character. The slightly bitter finish is reminiscent of grapefruit and citrus fruit, leaving a refreshingly elegant impression.

Tasting notes from :
Jean-Christophe POUTEAU, Sommelier-Conseil-Caviste, Graduate of the Suze la Rousse Wine University

This white wine goes perfectly with sea bass, sole or cod, as well as fresh salads with citrus fruit, fresh herbs and seafood.

Ageing potential

Our Pouilly Fumé reaches its full potential 6 to 12 months after harvesting and will give you pleasure throughout the ageing process, which can last from 3 to 6 years depending on the vintage and storage.
